Ubuntu 8.10 Resmi Dirilis

Canonical Ltd., sponsor komersial dari proyek Ubuntu mengumumkan peluncuran rilis akhir Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) pada tanggal 30 Oktober 2008. Ubuntu adalah distribusi Linux untuk desktop, laptop, netbook, thin client dan server yang menyediakan perangkat lunak terbaru dari dunia Free Software dan Open Source setiap 6 bulan sekali dan Ubuntu 8.10 adalah rilis kesembilan yang telah diluncurkan oleh proyek Ubuntu sampai saat ini.

Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex

Di Ubuntu 8.10 ini terdapat banyak fitur-fitur terbaru untuk desktop dan server seperti dukungan 3G, usb-creator untuk membuat start-up disk Ubuntu di USB, lingkungan desktop GNOME terbaru, encrypted private directory, java stack (Apache Tomcat dan OpenJDK), virtualisasi dan masih banyak lagi.

Ubuntu 8.10 sendiri akan di-support melalui security updates selama 18 bulan baik itu di desktop maupun di server, dan untuk Anda yang ingin mencoba dipersilakan untuk langsung mengunduh Ubuntu dari situs-situs di bawah ini atau Anda dapat juga memesannya melalui ShipIt.
